When and Where?


The journey starts at about 7 AM on the stairs of San Francisco City Hall. We walk our way on Mission Street passing Daly City and onto El Camino Real. From there, we walk to the border of San Jose, right after Santa Clara University. 2008 Walk, we are going to take split the time up in two days. We wil be done approx 7 PM on Sunday.

Why?

Sirtrust Organization Walk 2008 is to raise money for the China Relief Efforts. 100 % of the proceeds will go towards the American Red Cross.


How it All Started: It was early spring 2003 and my ex-coworker, Francis Tran, invited me to walk with him on a noble cause which he started over 20 years ago. He and his friends wanted to raise money for the Vietnamese boat people during the early 80's. This walk was 20 years later for him and closure for what he started with his friends. He forgot to mentioned it was from San Francisco City Hall to San Jose. I was 27 years of age and never did anything so crazy. Yes, I admit this walk was extremely crazy. The walk lasted 23 hours. I was tired, sweated, exhausted, and drained, but I felt like I accomplished something huge. I felt like I can do anything. This feeling was contagious.

The following year, I wanted walk for a reason. I chose walking to raise money for a scholarship fund.
